Touching Without Touch

Touch suggests a broad range of physical, intellectual, and emotional connections. The months of pandemic had taken away from us this form of care and communication. How we show care for each other during these times of new normal while being in social isolation and distancing?

Drawing from the ideas of Dada that was an artistic response to the horrors of the First World War and need to re-negotiate the present moment, touch played the key role in defining a decentralized, fragmented, and intimate form of knowing. What resolutions artists come up with in times of pandemic and what alternative forms of care we accept and practice today?

Those questions that we raise include, among other things, the care for each other and for our communities, health care, care for the social and systemic change, alternative ways to provide and receive mental support, care for older communities in isolation, care for art and art education that are essential to a functioning society.
